The Volunteer Coordinator ensures timely completion of customer audio transcription orders by coordinating and monitoring volunteer readers and assignments.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Reading and evaluating a wide variety of printed materials and publications and assigning them to volunteers with the appropriate expertise in that subject
- Coordinating, monitoring, and supporting daily volunteer recording activities so that customer needs and schedules are met
- Providing assistance to volunteers on a wide range of issues, particularly on matters relating to the production of audio recordings
- Overseeing the development of volunteer recognition and maintenance of volunteer areas
- Providing and maintaining recruiting information on volunteers and volunteer opportunities
- Administering oral reading test to applicants
- Assisting with volunteer onboarding and training
This position will be based out of the St. Paul office and may be eligible to telework up to two (2) days per week. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of work experience in audiobook production or radio or television broadcasting
Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:
- Ability to read a wide variety of printed materials to determine assignment to appropriate recording volunteer
- Knowledge of the components necessary for professional quality audio production including the ability to operate recording equipment
- Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) to check and respond to email and create documents
- Skill in human relations sufficient to interact with volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Skill in problem solving sufficient to troubleshoot issues with recording equipment
- Skill in written communication sufficient to create a monthly email newsletter
