Job Overview:

The main goal of this role is to aid the Pet Demand planning department in optimizing and standardizing processes by proposing technical solutions and implementing them. This will ultimately improve the overall forecasting approach and enhance accuracy. To achieve this, the position involves identifying and seizing opportunities that support demand planning efforts by implementing industry-leading and standardized practices. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Pet Demand leadership teams to develop and standardize governance around current processes and closely working with the o9 project team to implement and stabilize industry-leading capabilities in Pet. Furthermore, the role entails assessing the impact on business KPIs. This position requires close collaboration with Pet planning teams, regional COEs, hub leadership, and IPT.

Strategic Responsibilities:

·       Provide technical leadership for enhancing models and existing processes within o9

·       Keep tab on innovation happening across and outside General Mills in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Demand forecasting, segmentation and evaluate use cases for implementation.

·       Provide innovative solutions and help implement it to bring improvement to the overall forecasting approach resulting in improved accuracy.

·       Responsible for breakthrough capabilities in the Demand Analytics area to achieve HMM in the form of $ or hours for General Mills Supply Chain

·       Stakeholder engagement and solution adoption with storytelling through powerful visualization binding numbers with reasoning and insights

·       Multivariate modeling incorporating external factors related to distribution, pricing, trade and merchandizing, weather events, macroeconomic factors etc. into forecasting using o9.

·       Fully identifying and utilizing o9 system capabilities in the space of Demand planning.

·        Effectively review and deploy results to stakeholders using predictive, prescriptive analytics and data visualization using o9 or build custom-built tools

·       Leading Literature review and research on the latest methodologies and algorithmic innovations

·       End-to-end ownership of predictive analytics and recommender systems development, including EDA, Data mining, feature engineering and modeling framework.

·       Collaborate with the o9 team, architects, engineers and other business teams for solution development

·       Lead innovation for New Items using like item modeling approach and explore long-term forecasting capability.

·       Utilise o9 for segmented demand planning, Cluster & Classify data using different unsupervised machine learning methods.

·       Drive o9 Enhancements and overall SDA DP process continuous improvement initiatives

·       Provide KPI recovery and improvement initiatives for SDA team

Stakeholder/Project Management Responsibilities – Lead, Plan, and Communicate

·       Lead the business meetings to understand the business requirements and chartering the project.

·       Prepare the project proposals, identify the opportunities, and provide solution options, trade-offs, risks, and success criteria

·       Prepare the project plan, effort estimation, gain alignment on the resources and execute.

·       Deliver the project per the timelines, with the highest quality and in budgeted resources.

·       Maintain and develop relationships with key partners across Pet planning community, IPT and regional COE’s to encourage best practice sharing and cross functional collaboration.

·        

Manage the proactive communication throughout the project to the project teams, stakeholders/sponsors/leadership.

Technical requirements

  • Strong understanding of Demand Planning and supply planning processes
  • Preferred hands-on working experience in o9, JDA, APO, Garvis, OMP, or the likes
  • Proficient with machine learning algorithms (Supervised/Unsupervised)
  • Understanding of R and PYTHON Programming
  • Data visualization using Excel, Tableau
  • Handling large data sets in various formats, volumes and dimensions
  • Advanced statistics and probability
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning processes and future direction.
  • Deep business knowledge and industry experience.
