Job Overview
Role: Consultant , Commercial Data Foundation
Location: Mumbai
The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to developing a best-in-class data capability that helps drive performance of General Mills now and into the future. This is an exciting time to work in General Mills’ DnA organization! We are partnering across Sales, SRM, and Global Commerce Experience teams to advance Data and Analytics capabilities and impact. We are seeking an analyst to join the D&T India DnA Commercial Enterprise Data team to work on key priorities for Commercial Data foundation team. This role will report into Commercial Data Foundation - Manager in India and functionally collaborate with the Global team. It is an Individual contributor role. In this role, you will play the critical role of consistently bring in data with appropriate governance, follow best practices and support data socialization. This role is the development team’s source for business logic, requirements, and technical analysis

Role Responsibilities
• Understand how data sets are organized and structured; including what it is, the relationships, and how it is can be used to inform analysis
• Support existing data pipelines, monitor loads on weekend and adherence to data availability SLAs
• Advance understanding for the data foundation to aid knowledge and accurate utility
• Partners with D&T and Business teams to:
o Execute against overall data procurement roadmap to enable acquisition, data prep, ingestion of new sources, and maintenance in support of key business initiatives (Leads, SRM, Sales Analytics, Connected Commerce)
o Enhance & interact with data quality interface to monitor and address data quality issues
o Executes ongoing maintenance of external data to “harmonize” with General Mills internal definitions of products and customers (cross-referencing).
o Research and remediates data quality and/or processing issues
• Create and sustain strong relationships with a broad array of internal stakeholders to gain business context and with external partners to ensure the data meets business needs
• Deploy data design expertise to ensure well defined data sets are available
• Collaborate with Product Teams to confirm data utility requirements; enabling it to be optimally surfaced in our internal data systems
• Own delivery: Ensure product development through completion (incl. Address, prioritize, and fix bugs (QA), ensuring acceptance criteria is met and promotion to production)
• Communicate delays and articulate the downstream impact to tools and processes
• Own documentation, troubleshooting, support and coordination with team
• Serve as the day-to-day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drive user stories
• Apply Agile Methodology to deploy change requirements via preferred methods accounting for priorities, time, and resources

Must - have technical skills and experience
• Passion for data governance; driving data quality via data application and understanding across an organization
• 3+ years of in market data knowledge and/or demonstrated experience in managing large data sets including needs identification, partnering on solutions, and managing change
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; highly collaborative and able to build/sustain relationships
• Agility to deliver with a sense of urgency, consistently meeting timelines
• Ability to work with highly technical teams to translate business needs into requirements
• Exhibit a learning mindset and curiosity about consumer behavior, types of commercial data and application
• To be able to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap with development teams and stakeholders
• 5 years of experience in leading a project or sub-projects
• Strong experience in exploring and analysing large data sets using Excel and SQL to understand patterns, structures, and definition
• Hands on experience working with SQL
• Strong understanding and implementation of Agile methodology
• Strong communication skills- verbal and written with ability to present complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story
• Excellent problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress
• Self-managing, results-oriented, and capable of leading multiple initiatives simultaneously through rigorous prioritization
• Bachelor’s Degree from Tier 1 institute
• Technologies – BigQuery - Google Cloud Platform, ETL

Good to have skills

• Agile Scrum master certification
• Understanding of Point of Sale, Syndicated and Consumer Data
• Vendor management experience
