Sr. Financial Analyst, Hannibal, Missouri

 

OVERVIEW

 

The Hannibal Plant is one of General Mills’ the largest manufacturing locations in North America, supporting the North American Retail Segment.  The plant produces approximately 80MM cases annually on 15 production lines through teamwork of its 1,000+ team members.  This ever-changing dynamic team environment provides exciting and differentiating experiences.

 

In the Senior Financial Analyst role, support several platforms within the Meals & Snacks operating units.  This work includes identifying and developing productivity & transformational initiatives, building & executing financial plans, partnering cross-functionally with plant operations to support business results as well as the plant mission, building a strong controls environment, and analyzing metrics to provide business insights. 

 

The Hannibal Finance Team is a highly collaborative team.  You will work alongside the Hannibal Finance Manager & partner SFA on a day-to-day basis, collaborate with Finance peers in Supply Chain on process development and best practices, as well as the Operating Units to deliver results.

 

Ability to work onsite at the plant is required, with an opportunity for a hybrid onsite/remote schedule.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide financial leadership for and preparation of annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Prepare monthly and interim financial reporting and analysis
  • Perform monthly financial closing tasks including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Transform financial data into insights for the plant operating teams
  • Provide thought leadership and analytical support in development of strategic initiatives (new product costing, productivity initiatives, site and/or function process improvements, etc)
  • Ensure effective financial internal controls & SOX compliance are in place and properly executed
  • Engage in cross-functional leadership opportunities that support the Plant’s Master Plan
  • Learn & Apply Continuous Improvement principles to all functional and plant processes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. or B.S in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organization, prioritization skills with an attention to detail
  • Willingness to get outside of traditional financial roles to support plant operations
  • Demonstrated ability to
    • Communicate effectively with business partners (Partnership for Impact)
    • Be proactive, respond quickly, and smoothly adjust to changes (Situational Agility)
    • Synthesize many data sources to provide meaningful analysis and identify recommendations (Data Based Decision Making & Analytic Proficiency)

PREFFERD QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of work experience
  • Willingness to commit to 24 months in role
  • Experience working in a finance/accounting role within manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to influence, develop, and motivate peers (Matrix Relationship Management)
