About the Opportunity

National IT has an immediate opening for a Technical Product Owner within the Cloud Foundations Team within the Cloud Solutions and Services Organization. You will initially focus on the Cloud Foundations mission to build and maintain our AWS Developer Tooling suite to enable our customers application portfolio migration from on-prem to the cloud. The Technical Product Owner is a member of the team responsible for defining and prioritizing a team’s backlog while incorporating and translating the overall customer requirements into stories and features. The Product Owner has an important role in driving value realization and directs members of the team in completing the worked defined in given Program Increment (PI) and within the sprints for a given PI. You will work with business stakeholders, leaders, product managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize, and communicate needs to ensure full understanding of product scope, objectives, and requirements.

This is an individual contributor role with hybrid on-site expectations in one of our district bank locations and will report to the Product Manager for the Cloud Foundations Team.

What You Will Do:

  • Primary liaison between stakeholders and teams to ensure full understanding of product scope, objectives, requirements, and dependencies specific to the AWS Developer Tooling suite.

  • Establish/refine Cloud Foundations workflow processes for building, optimizing, and enhancing our platforms to enable portfolio migration planning, architecture review and production readiness.

  • Articulates the customer requirements to product teams, outlining and prioritizing work based on business value; prioritize product and services backlog based on overall strategy and business objectives and works with the Scrum Master and the Release Train Engineer to drive sprint and release plans.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders by assessing, evaluating, and understanding the technical, business and product requirements.

  • Oversees all stages of development, including planning, refining, reviewing and PI and sprint planning.

  • In partnership with Architecture, develop a cohesive strategy for the Gold Image lifecycle, Silver Image management, and supporting core modules for AWS Developers consumption.

  • Manage the Gold Image lifecycle, including the creation of new gold images, supporting required software packages and agents installed on the images, retiring old or outdated images, and introducing new OSes with gold images to enable cloud migrations.

  • Develop and maintain processes for image hardening and certification, enabling AMI flexibility without compromising security.

  • Lead the internal cloud platform developer core patterns and development tool chain, supporting core modules, packages, merge requirements, etc. to enable rapid development and robust DevOps practices throughout the organization.

  • Develop, refine, and maintain the AWS Developer Tooling roadmap for iterative development and consumption.

  • In partnership with Architecture, Azure and AWS specific POs, partner to develop a plans and opportunities for knowledge share and uplift across CSP platform teams.

  • In partnership with Architecture, leadership, and AWS specific POs drive, develop and define cohesive cross-CSP processes that enable a unified customer experience and ensure adherence to all policy and compliance requirements.

  • Key participant in retrospectives to improve team processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, including working with automation platforms, cloud technologies, IT infrastructure or leading software development projects.

  • At least 3 years of experience working as Product Owner

  • Experience working with agile software tools such as Jira, Rally.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong collaboration, influencing, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and with geographically dispersed teams.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product Owner certification

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification

  • Experience with the SAFe Agile methodology.

  • Experience with AWS, specifically EC2, ECS, and Code* technologies.

  • Prior experience or demonstrated knowledge regarding Linux and Windows Operating Systems

  • Experience or familiarity with Hashicorp technologies, such as packer and terraform.

  • Matrixed team management experience

  • The national hiring range for the Senior Product Owner role is $101,3000-$139,260 and Advanced Product Owner role is 118,500-$162,910 annually. For candidates in certain markets (Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; New York City Metro Area, Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA), the listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
