Job Summary:

Using established skills in specialized area of expertise, assists on moderate to highly complex examinations or inspections of domestic banking activities, trust and securities related activities, other approved activities, information technology processing and audit functions, and/or compliance with commercial and consumer protection laws and regulations in state member banks, financial holding companies and bank holding companies, Edge Act corporations, and U.S. offices of foreign banking institutions. May act as lead examiner in specialized area of expertise during an examination or inspection.

What You Will Do:

  • Using established skills in specialized area of expertise, acts as lead examiner and/or assists on more complex examinations or inspections of state member banks, financial holding companies and bank holding companies, Edge Act corporations, and U.S. offices of foreign banking institutions.
  • Compiles and analyzes data in specialized area of expertise, analyzing risk management practices, formulating conclusions, and preparing comments on findings and recommendations.
  • Assists the examiner in charge (EIC) in planning examination or inspection activities in specialized area of expertise by reviewing pre-examination and inspection materials in specialized area of expertise; appraises EIC of the condition of organization in specialized area of expertise; analyzes moderate to highly complex issues to reach conclusions; prepares comprehensive examination/inspection report findings and supporting work papers within scheduled time frames; discusses conclusions with senior management.
  • Determines risks and exposures of financial institutions in specialized area of expertise by analyzing financial and other surveillance data of a moderate to highly complex nature from financial institutions.
  • Conducts on-the-job training for examiners and assistant examiners in specialized area of expertise.
  • Maintains knowledge by keeping abreast of developments both in banking legislation and in the banking industry.
  • Demonstrates effective Supervision, Regulation and Credit (SRC) Core Competency skills for grade and position.
  • Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
  • Complies with all applicable information security policies, guidelines, and practices.
  • Actively involved in the accomplishment of departmental and/or Bank-wide quality initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience is required, with concentration in finance, accounting, or business desirable.
  • Minimum of five years bank examination and/or financial institution experience is required, with concentration in area of specialized expertise.

Other Requirements:

  • Some travel required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

The salary grade for this position is: 14. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, and skills, and internal equity and alignment with market data.
