The St. Louis Fed’s Internal Audit has an exciting opportunity to add an Audit Senior to our team. Our audit team is a respected and trusted partner working in an “audit friendly” environment. Our ideal candidate has approximately five years of professional audit experience with strong “critical thinking” skills, is a driven problem-solver, and has a strong desire for continuous learning. In this important role, you will perform a variety of engagements, including operational, information technology, compliance, consulting, and project audits. You will have an opportunity to leverage your strong consulting and relationship building skills as well. You might have CIA, CISA, or CISSP certifications, but if not, we will help you obtain those, and cover the cost!

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead and execute high-quality, complex audit engagements in accordance with established procedures with a high degree of independence and limited direction.
  • Direct, supervise and review work performed by assigned engagement team including providing feedback on auditor performance at the end of each engagement. Direct supervision of up to 5 employees on an assignment while some larger engagements may involve collaborating and coordinating a larger team of auditors across the Federal Reserve.
  • Prepare written reports, identifying and assessing the impact of audit exceptions, providing appropriate recommendations, and presenting clear, logical explanations of issues to audit and business leaders.
  • Perform testing to confirm remediation of audit issues.
  • Lead strategic projects, as assigned. Provide policy, application, governance, risk, and control insight to the audit community in support of audit initiatives.
  • Proficient in emerging audit tools, techniques, and practices, including data analytics.
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts throughout the Federal Reserve.
  • Promote a positive workplace environment of trust and respect by fostering a mindset of diversity and inclusion and modeling open and transparent communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Audit or in relevant areas like Risk Management, Information Security, IT, Project Management, or Treasury.
  • 5+ years of audit or relevant experience; including preparing and reviewing work papers, summary memos and reports using data visualization to inform insights.
  • A CPA, CISA, CISSP, PMP or CISM certification is preferred.
  • Adept at thinking critically, analyzing data from multiple sources and drawing valuable and applicable conclusions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervision experience in a complex, team-oriented, and stakeholder-centric environment.
  • Cloud control and environment knowledge (e.g., Amazon Web Services, etc.) including understanding of ‘as a Service’ offerings, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of IT General Controls and audit methodologies for platforms, processes, systems, and controls as well as security frameworks like NIST and FISMA. Ability to apply IT Security Best Practices knowledge to audit work.
  • Knowledge of the IIA International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade or salary.
  • US Citizen or lawful permanent resident with three or more years of US residency.

Salary: $92,500 – $129,000
