This Job Description is for the Information Technology Job Family and could include anyone within the ITS department that performs these tasks. An ideal candidate must have knowledge of, be able to perform actions that are related to activities in the designated business line. The QA Engineer position designs or modifies testing/data validation/quality assurance for automated applications and procedures for solutions to business problems of moderate to high complexity. Also has full operational knowledge of all phases of testing and is able to work at a high level of complexity related to quality assurance with minimal supervision. Directs and reviews work of lower-level personnel and/or may perform as an individual contributor on large and complex systems. Has working knowledge of one or more FRS system testing platforms.

This position will follow the Automated Software Testing and Performance Testing Track

  • You will have hands on experience to design and implement test automation frameworks that support scalability, maintainability, and reusability of automated tests.
  • You will have a track record of working in Agile teams that may be geographically distributed as well as working independently by self-managing priorities based on the team’s composition.
  • A Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Testing Front end services using industry standard languages and frameworks e.g. Java, Selenium, Cypress, Jest, Playwright; and API testing frameworks like Rest Assured and Karate frameworks is required.
  • Participate on Bank, department, or system projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • Demonstrate effective Core Competency skills for grade and position.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. Actively involved in the accomplishment of departmental and Bank wide quality initiatives.
  • Comply with all applicable information security policies, guidelines, and practices.
  • Mentor junior QA Engineers by providing direction and guidance when needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Hands on experience with developing and integrating automated tests into an existing development and continuous integration processes.
  • Ability to execute automated test scripts that are already developed, analyze results, and provide timely and accurate feedback to development teams.
  • Hands on experience in using relational databases and tools required for performing medium to complex database components.
  • Experience in Integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring early detection of defects and seamless release processes.
  • Ability to contribute to overall improvement of Quality engineering practices by removing redundancies, sharing knowledge etc.
  • Good working knowledge on essential Cloud services on AWS is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills. Independently present both orally and in writing, findings and assessments; prepare and present information and responses to higher complexity inquiries; demonstrate the ability to manage the communication process; the ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely; actively engage in transferring technical knowledge; diffuse conflict and build consensus.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Logical and creative approach to problem-solving. Organize data and information in a manner that effectively communicates issues; identify underlying issues or problems and recognize symptoms that indicate more severe problems or issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and participate effectively on a team; lead complex and diverse team efforts by virtue of both technical expertise and leadership skills of influence; draw on experience to resolve higher complexity issues; display strong interpersonal skills in dealing with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong time management skills. Possess a meticulous and organized approach to work; Identify and assess complex supervisory issues; effectively manage complex issues to meet our objectives and goals.
  • Strong knowledge of various computer systems and technologies with an ability to learn new skills and technology quickly. An awareness of current issues affecting the industry and its technologies.
  • Subject to minimal or no oversight in work performed; serve as mentor and/or coach and provide constructive feedback to less experienced staff; engage other stakeholders in collecting feedback and input to complete work activities.
  • A concentration in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent significant experience in information technology and software testing is required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CTFL and Product Specific Certifications as applicable per track are preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience designing and developing tests for UI, API, and performance requirements, using manual and automation approach.
  • Minimum 5 years of automation development experience with technologies described above.

The salary grade for this position is: Grade 14/15
