About the Opportunity

The Core Infrastructure Services team has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Platform Architect to oversee our Architectural and ITSM platforms.

You will support two key platforms: 1) our current Architectural platform including Application Portfolio Management (APM), Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) functionality, and 2) our ITSM platform. This position will be responsible for the architectural direction of the platforms, ensuring data and technical components meet System standards and drive the platforms forward as strategic decisioning tools, including data lineage across the platforms and integration points with external systems. The successful candidate will help to define processes for the platforms, system specifications, and ensure technical and business compatibility, and will interact with senior executives including System CIO’s. Decisions made by the candidate will have significant impact on day-to-day operations within ITSM, APM, BPM and EA. They will identify, analyze and support product features and enhancements with internal constituents including Product Managers, Product Owners, Chapter Leads and partners as well as with the vendors, and will be recognized as a subject matter expert. The candidate will work with leadership in carrying out strategic initiatives focused on designing, planning, developing, and synchronizing strategic business and technological directives and making and supporting implementation recommendations.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensures alignment of strategic plans with technology roadmaps and that strategic plans and solutions are designed and implemented to align with technology roadmaps to support the mission of National IT.

  • Accountable for partnership with System-wide customers and FRS IT service providers for the delivery of business line and IT technology strategies and roadmaps.

  • Builds strong relationships and partnerships with System-wide customers and FRS IT service providers and application developers by providing specialized expertise on complex technology issues, educating senior management on technology architecture direction, implementation strategies, and application to enterprise business solutions.

  • Delivers tangible business value by defining the functional requirements and solutions.

  • Creates effective solutions to problems of unusual complexity requiring high degree of innovation. Sets strategic technology direction and effective governance processes, and influences system-wide planning. Researches and identifies best practice methods and emerging technologies, assessing potential business value, architectural fit, performance, cost and risks to the organization.

  • Supports change and identifies major areas of technology infrastructure development for functional area and anticipates future IT requirements for the Federal Reserve.

  • Communicates effectively with business and technical leadership on various issues. Through effective communication with customers and FRS IT service providers and forums, develops complex and significant technical architectures to support and align with business lines, system capabilities, and technology strategies, goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with Chapter Leads and Enterprise Architecture community to improve platform utilization and adoption of integrated architecture design processes by developing architecture configuration standards and design guidelines.

  • Within the platforms, develop, configure and implement robust Frameworks, standards, processes, and KPI definitions as well as defining the overall structure of the existing Architectural Tool and ITSM environment.

  • Assess and communicate current-state condition of the Architectural Tool and ITSM platform and identify gaps and improvement opportunities that support organizational strategies.

  • Provide consultative guidance, hands on support for data and technology projects focused on planning, development, represent Core Infrastructure Services as it applies to Architecture and ITSM platforms during the implementation of strategic directives.

  • Ensure the application portfolio, business process and enterprise architecture data quality is defined and maintained on the Architectural platform.

  • Develop and align platform capabilities to support ITSM, APM, BPM & EA portfolio management strategies.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Demonstrated expertise in practices methodologies and emerging technologies. Leadership ability with a proven record of successfully driving change, setting priorities, driving performance, and executing plans on schedule within a defined multi- faceted structure. Ability to effectively influence senior level management and key stakeholders. Good judgment, ability to manage across functional teams, influence others to accomplish set goals, and organize resources.

Professional presence and excellent communication skills, including outstanding presentation and persuasion capabilities that elicit confidence and credibility. Research industry future trends to recommend supportable strategic direction and identify tactical needs. Able to translate complex technical concepts effectively to help customers understand their technological needs. Able to build consensus, build followership with business line owners, drive change and firmly advance solid solutions, while maintaining flexibility and adaptability. Good listening and observation skills, value of customer input, and ability to appropriately exert influence to drive priorities and achieve results. Ability to define plans and execute roadmaps.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Experience with application integration leveraging APIs and other integration methods. Preferred experience with integrations with IT service management, operations management, and decision intelligence platforms

  • Knowledge and fluency in the Mega Hopex or ServiceNow platforms or comparable strategic decisioning tools and platforms and willingness to gain in-depth understanding of Architectural (i.e., Mega Hopex, Software AG’s Alfabet) and ITSM Platforms (i.e. BMC Remedy, ServiceNow) platforms.

  • Experience implementing a cloud strategy in AWS, GCP or Azure

  • Proven experience of understanding end to end architecture requirements, defining standards, and implementing complex solutions.

  • Experience with automation to supporting testing, release and configuration management.

  • Knowledge of architectural standards and approaches.

  • Data management knowledge and data driven decision focus.

  • Related certifications in architecture and/or data (i.e. ITIL) preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ Years of proven experience acting as a platform architect or enterprise architect for complex enterprise level solutions and initiatives.

  • 8+ years of experience presenting and communicating with senior executives including C-Suite

  • Government experience will be considered a plus.

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience.

  • The hiring range is $166,500 – $228,000 annually.
