Position Summary
The position will work within the Power Operations department at Xcel. Power Operations is responsible for the reliable and economic dispatch of the Xcel Energy generation fleet to meet the energy needs of its customers, including the renewable resources (wind and solar) the company is integrating to meet its clean energy goals. Gain a thorough understanding of power generation and the energy markets Xcel Energy participates in to optimize operations. Work alongside experienced Power Operations Analysts and System Operators to improving operations processes and efficiency. Tasks include post analysis of generation operations data, real time data monitoring and display building, and ad-hoc projects supporting business needs. Work with others in the business unit to incorporate knowledge and insights gained into day-to-day operations and processes.
Requirements
Candidate must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at a post-secondary education institution.
Ability to work part time during the school year
Must possess drivers license
Preferred
Ability to stay on throughout the school year
Enrolled in a relevant degree program.
Experience with Microsoft Office
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Non-BargainingThe anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.40 to $21.60 per hourThis position may also be eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays, Personal holidaysPay and benefit packages may vary based on position.
