Project Description

Xcel Energy has an opportunity for a Business Intern to join our Customer Solutions Department at our downtown Minneapolis office OR downtown Denver, Colorado office. The internship will start in January 2024 and has the potential to continue until graduation. The hours and days of this internship are flexible. This internship will assist Residential Product and Channel Managers and help support electric and natural gas energy efficiency programs. The purpose of this internship is to provide the student with a broad look at the communications and product management needs of a major corporation and provide opportunities to support staff within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating corporate marketing communications on customer-facing web pages and applications.
  • Supporting the staff with the implementation of marketing strategies, as well as coordinating various projects.
  • Invoice processing.
  • Assist with processing and entering data into Salesforce.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in: Business, Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related subject.
  • A Junior, Senior, or Master’s Student as of January 2024.
  • Recent graduates and students graduating in Spring 2024 are not eligible for this opportunity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work up to 30 hours/week in the summer and 10-20 hours/week during the school year.
  • Must live within a commutable distance from Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO.

Preferred Requirements

  • Salesforce experience.
