Position Summary
Provides leadership of the Company’s broad-based employee compensation and recognition programs. Develops and implements compensation strategies to assure attraction and retention of desired talent.
Essential Responsibilities
- Strategy and Program Design: Directs the design and assessment of broad-based employee compensation strategy, roadmap and programs to ensure alignment with business needs while remaining market competitive. Assesses market trends and formulates recommendations to maintain the right level of competitive market positioning within the larger total rewards framework. Partners with Workforce Analytics team to assess the effectiveness of existing programs (e.g., cost vs. benefit, usage, and employee value proposition) through metrics and dashboards. Advises on pay decisions, policy interpretations and job evaluations including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
- Operational Excellence: Provides leadership on program/policies implementation, administration, communication and change management for base pay and variable pay. Ensures team members stay abreast of regulatory changes and business processes remain compliance with applicable federal, state and local requirements (e.g., FLSA, 409a, pay equity, wage notices, etc.). Partners with Workforce Analytics team to track and assess operational efficiency, workload and potential resource/knowledge gaps. Establish approach and consistency within the team on process documentation, cross training and operational support structure. Ensure strong partnership with other cross-functional partners and alignment on ownership
- Team management and development: Encourages team growth through skill development, coaching and training, alignment in performance expectations and establishing a focus on networking. Fosters a culture that drives employee development and empower ownership/decision making mindset. Manages departmental budgets and expenses within corporate guidelines. Responsible for all staffing related actions.
- Regulatory support:Collaborate with internal partners to develop and implement strategy to obtain regulatory recovery on employee labor costs. Oversee the coordination and preparation of testimony, responding to regulator requests and acting as HR’s witness for regulatory proceedings. Prepare to attend and participate in regulatory recovery cases as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Human Resources or related field or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- 10 years progressively responsible experience in compensation or total rewards with five years of management experience.
- Proven organizational and communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization.
- Effective project manager with ability to develop an overall project plan with clear deliverables and manage a project team.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience with government regulations pertaining to Human Resources and broad- based compensation and recognition systems.
- Advanced analytical, consulting and influencing skills, with a track record of identifying issues and formulating solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with various HRIS and compensation systems
