MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
At General Mills, our FP&A team is a crucial and highly visible group, and the Senior Financial Analyst enables key corporate reporting and planning at the enterprise level that provides visibility to key operational and performance strategies.
As a Sr. Financial Analyst, FP&A, you will be expected to demonstrate the following key competencies:
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP & FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP:
- Manage Admin Planning by coordinating with the cost center owners as part of the admin planning cycle and communicate with Global GAAT team.
- Provide monthly estimate updates for Admin budget while creating a strategic glidepath in order to keep admin expense flat over a 3–5-year horizon.
- Stewart system updates for Financial Estimate by coordinating estimate inputs with multiple parties across finance (Supply Chain, Trade, Consumer, among others) and ensure adherence to strict timelines and guidelines for system input.
- Validate various elements of input (including mix) and ensure approvals and alignment with the key functional leaders.
- Lead NAR BPH hierarchy alignment changes for Canada
BUSINESS PERFORMANCE:
- Provide consistent and accurate reporting to cost center owners and quarterly Leadership Team updates.
- Monitor and analyze monthly variances vs budget, identify drivers, initiate action if required, resolve ad-hoc queries as per the cc owner's request.
- Ensure timely accruals and other period-end entries are posted.
- Coordinate and communicate with the Global Admin team as part of reporting cycle.
- Provide differential analysis and reporting for the New Product Innovation (NPI) for current and future years pipeline and partner with BU teams to influence holistic NPI strategy and provide quarterly NPI reporting to NAR.
- Provide monthly KPI scorecard reporting to key internal stakeholders.
FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Conduct HFM/Essbase reconciliation monthly
- Provide 18 months rolling Fx forecast to the treasury team (Quarterly)
- Provide monthly EBIT forecast for Canada (legal vs management) to Global Tax team.
- Respond to various ad-hoc requests from the central accounting, statistics Canada, and tax team.
CHAMPIONSHIP TALENT:
- Acts as a mentor to the wider analyst community, sharing best practices and effective methods of working while actively seeking and actioning upon areas for further improvement.
- Advances financial literacy with cross functional business partners.
- Enhances existing processes to create efficiencies in ways of working while leveraging opportunities for ad-hoc projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration required
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- MBA or CPA designation is an asset.
- Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to translate financial analysis into insights & into action.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player who can influence others within the business teams.
- Prior CPG experienced (Preferred)
