OVERVIEW
The Line Lead provides safety and servant-based leadership to achieve breakthrough production results on a manufacturing system. This position is accountable for developing and executing daily, monthly, and 90 day plans to deliver an improvement glidepath through rigorous application of foundational systems and driving system utilization. The Line Lead is accountable for driving out losses using daily direction setting and developing the plan for the day. They will have ownership of safety, quality, system utilization (SU), Actual Vs. Commit (AVC), Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL) systems and planned stops.
The Line Lead owns ensuring the development of the operating teams’ technical capability. The majority of a Line Lead’s day will be spent on the floor with the operating teams building the capability of the people in their area. This position provides daily direction and coaching to the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead to deliver breakthrough results and is ultimately accountable for the results of the line/system. The Line Lead will build capability in the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead roles and must be able to cover their responsibilities in their short term absence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- System Owner- single point accountability for the line/ system results
- Owns Human and Food safety for the line/system and action plans for improvement
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching to line team members
- Builds capability in technicians in order to identify, measure and drive out losses
- Support of the developmental plan for the Line Team
- Owns identifying training gaps for the technicians on the system as well as developing and ensuring execution of training plan to address these gaps
- Owns DDS process including:
- Leads daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly – including recognition of team members
- Lead the development and execution of Plan for the Day – including development and handoff of plan for off shifts
- Health of CIL system
- Implementation and evolution of Planned Stops
Loss Elimination
- Single point of ownership of the 90-Day improvement plan to deliver the glidepath
- Facilitates development of the line/system 90-Day Plans to address losses and build capability
- Owns delivery of line targeted results (including financials)
People Leadership
- On-shift safety, quality of product, execution of specific improvement plan actions
- Directing work of technicians
- Shift Hand-offs
- Temp employee management
- Team Development
- Performance management and incentives
- Own accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics for shift
- Start-up and changeover execution
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of related manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of data systems including MAXIMO, MQIS, and GSTEMS
- Demonstrated capability in application of Foundational Systems and Driving SU
- Demonstrated basic technical capability on at least one product platform
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Prior Process Lead or Maintenance Lead experience
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $77900.00 - $117000.00 / Annually.
