OVERVIEW
The Project Engineer is responsible for identifying and organizing capital projects for the Green Bay location. This role will manage the overall project processes including but not limited to costs, bids, and technical studies for production lines, equipment needs, and facility updates.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans set forth by the leadership team
- Determines project responsibilities and coordinates tasks based on availability, priority, and current workload
- Main point of contact for all reviewing bids from contractors
- Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates as needed
- Formulate realistic parameters for each project. Maintains project schedules, plans, specifications, and time requirements, reporting out when adjustments to project timelines are needed
- Responsible for overseeing project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts
- Ongoing partnership with Operations and support teams on safety and health initiatives
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain project data base
- Maintains liaison with outside organizations, such as fire departments, mutual aid societies and rescue teams to assure information exchange and mutual assistance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Project Engineering/Planning preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Technical understanding
- Process improvement
- Working knowledge of Engineer Software such as CAD, AUTOCAD, Primavera required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Be very detail oriented with the ability to make decisions based on information you have available.
- Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years in relevant food manufacturing with engineering experience
- Understanding of Food Manufacturing regulatory Requirements (Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, etc). experience working with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, TPM, CI, Zero Loss Culture, or Lean Manufacturing
Safety & PPE Requirements:
- Must be able to tolerate heights up to 10 feet off the ground on occasion. Must be able to independently lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Smock, hair net, ear plugs, steel toe slip resistant rubber shoes/boots, and safety glasses.
- Requires 100% flexibility of wrists and hands. Must be able to manage walking, bending, standing, twisting, and lifting regularly throughout the course of shift.
