POSITION SUMMARY

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Excellence

  • Manage Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing
  • Understand Monthly expense variance through analysis
  • Manage Consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
  • Manage Fixed Assets
  • Subject matter expertise on Balance sheet accounts reconciliations
  • Interface with management in various departments, including Supply Chain, sales operations, Treasury, Tax, IT and legal
  • As an SME should be able to understand data flow across process close process & guide team on queries
  • Have an understanding of consolidation system i.e. Hyperion

Financial Reporting

  • Take lead to find opportunities to identity process gaps & bring about standardization
  • Leverage CI tools and automation to lead projects to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business partners / other teams for new opportunities. Ensure compliance to policies and procedures
  • As an SME, act as an Quality reviewer & conduct surprise audits to test compliance on policies & practice
  • Have a general knowledge on Chart of accounts & its linkages to Hyperion
  • Provide analytical support to Finance teams across clientele and Finance Function at GBS
  • Build a robust relationship

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post Graduate / CA inter / MBA degree in Accounting. CA is a plus but not a must.
  • Strong technical accounting background.
  • At least five years general ledger accounting experience is required
  • Strong Excel and database skills, Access experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player and have ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
  • SAP FICO experience Preferred
  • Should be able to support Finance functions. The responsibilities will involve:
    • Prepare & Approve Reconciliations of Balance Sheet Account including bank accounts
    • Create Journal Entries
    • Financial Statement preparation, review & analysis
    • Should have a general understanding of flow of financial transactions until close
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Supporting HMM discovery and ideation
    • Support Continuous Improvement – identify process improvements, engage in creating and putting in place improvements (i.e. utilizing YY or Focused Improvement) and communicate to broader ESC group
    • Partnership with Finance team both at divisions & corporate including GBS Finance
    • Provide inputs for ad-hoc requests and high level analysis requested by Minneapolis counterparts
    • Partner with Finance organization on designated projects
    • Assist Finance Operations Managers group to adhere to GMI reporting & control policies and procedures
  • Engagement with other Mumbai Finance team (CI and other initiatives)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters/Postgraduates degree in Finance & Accountancy
