You will be called upon to help drive and evangelize the technology vision that best enables the Statistics and Reserves business strategies. The AVP of IT Development will be responsible for gaining strategic alignment with business/product leadership and key dependent delivery partners and serve as a thought leader for the System.
The AVP of IT Development is responsible for ensuring that application development lifecycle activities including architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation are performed to a high standard and follow Agile methodologies. You will be called upon to be a servant leader that ensures there is a clear runway to ensure development teams are able to deliver high quality solutions on time.

The ideal candidate should be proactive leader with significant development, architecture, delivery and operations background with a broad range of technologies (including Cloud), passion for emerging technologies, and a commitment to stay up to date on technology trends. Apart from your education/experience, you must have strong strategic and business acumen.
Additionally, you will be tasked with developing strategies for talent management for the various teams you lead.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product stakeholders on priorities, minimally viable product (MVP) scope, schedules, budget, risks, etc.
- Lead and/or contribute to business and technology transformation efforts (e.g. Cloud, AI, Data). Participate in and lead System efforts
- Build strong strategic partnerships with business and technology stakeholders
- Dynamically lead a team of senior technology strategists making use of their strengths and developing their potential to create and execute the IT strategy
- Build a high-performance team while mentoring and developing managers and senior staff members to assume greater roles in the organization
Qualifications:
- Proven and validated leader with 7+ years of leadership experience and 10+ years of delivery experience
- Proven and demonstratable ability to manage and structure highly skilled IT teams for delivering high quality Cloud solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding people management, with inspirational leadership skills, presence and proven demonstrable ability to coach, lead, and develop high performing teams
- Foundational knowledge and expertise with Cloud, Data, and emerging AI strategies
- Always exhibit the highest levels of personal and professional integrity
- Demonstrated effective change champion and ability to work effectively with others in various organizations across the System to deliver complex, critical strategic IT initiatives
- Experience using agile methodologies to deliver IT projects with a product mindset
- Experience with user experience and design thinking
- Overnight travel may average 10 to 15 nights per year for project related meetings, conferences and/or training
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a U.S. Citizen
Base Salary Rangen AVP, IT Development Min: $189,000 - Mid: $249,000 - Max: $307,000 (Location: San Francisco)
Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
