This role is onsite in Cleveland, Ohio supporting third shift hours: Monday-Thursday 5pm-4am
Organizational Expectations:
As a Cash Operations Specialist Lead you will direct the daily workflow of currency/coin activities to ensure effective and efficient operation of a specific department function. You will manage day to day operations with little supervision and will be responsible for ensuring others perform their essential accountabilities on a daily basis. You will verify and balance daily activity to account for the teams or department holdings, and will apply independent judgment and discretion within the framework of governing procedures to maintain custody and accountability in a valuables handling environment.
General Responsibilities:
A lead role requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience.
A subject matter expert in the job area.
Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has impact on the overall achievement of results for the department.
Operational targets are achieved through leading other team members within and outside of the job area through delegation and review.
May be responsible for leading daily operations.
Trains, delegates, and reviews the work of junior level employees.
Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
Influences others outside the department regarding practices and procedures.
Adjusts and enhances working methods to improve effectiveness of the area.
Coordinates the workflow, escalates issues, manages inventory levels and resources.
Communicates and leads the resolution of problems encountered by the teams.
Serves in designated supervisory roles.
Cross trained in multiple areas and may assist in other areas of Cash Operations such as the compliance team with offsite reviews.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma and 7 years of related work experience OR
Two years of college and 5 year of related work experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related work experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Expert level attention to detail, with experience strictly following procedures
Expert level customer service and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office along with other various online applications as needed for the role
Expert level knowledge of cash operations and the prescribed operating procedures, safety, security, and compliance and/or production standards and controls
Physical Demands and General Working Conditions
Production environment (such as Cash): Employees in this position work in a controlled environment with one or more partners under Federal Reserve and Treasury custody control standards. This is a very physical job requiring repetitive lifting and moving of currency weighing greater than 30 pounds. Additionally, employees may be required to operate manual equipment (tow motor) to move containers exceeding 1,500 pounds. Limited sitting occurs and most of this job is performed standing and walking in an enclosed work area. This climate controlled, all glass room has extreme temperature changes from very cool to very hot. Employees need to be aware of their surroundings due to frequent movement of containers. Exposure to noise from various machines will occur. Employees may be required to push and pull currency containers of moderate to heavy weight.
