The Public Engagement team is looking for a dynamic and public service-oriented professional to join our team as a Regional Engagement Officer focused on building relationships in the San Francisco Bay area and broader region. Our group engages with a variety of stakeholders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to gather real-time information on economic conditions and share about the SF Fed’s work. Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Regional Executive to develop and implement a strategic plan for building a robust network of business and banking contacts, including those in the area of emerging technology.
- Regularly engage with business leaders to gather insights about current economic conditions that can help inform the Bank’s work.
- Manage relationships with financial institution senior executives as part of the Bank’s financial institution outreach efforts.
- Support the Regional Executive in organizing engagement opportunities for Bank senior leadership by convening forums, special events, and roundtables that enable Bank leadership to engage with external stakeholders and learn about the District.
- Build a robust portfolio of contacts and support the Regional Executive in the ongoing management and development of the Bank’s Boards of Directors and Advisory Councils.
- Communicate with the public by speaking individually and in groups to educate business leaders about the mission of the Federal Reserve and the work of the SF Fed.
- Provide backup support to the Regional Executive as requested; actively participate in the local office and management activities as applicable.
- Provide program management for the Public Engagement team’s Salesforce CRM, which serves as a record of our regional engagement activities and collaborate across departments to ensure the integrity of system data, the accuracy of reporting, and its consistent use and implementation overall success of the CRM.
Qualities for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires twelve or more years of related professional experience, preferably in an external outreach organization.
- A track record of demonstrated initiative, influence, and a robust network of business relationships in the local region, including key sectors such as technology.
- Excellent written, speaking, and presentation skills, and the ability to connect with a range of external parties, particularly at the C-suite level, and audiences across the organization and in the community.
- Ability to facilitate discussion and understanding of economic issues with external contacts.
- Excellent emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust in a variety of relationships through candor, reliability, and authenticity.
- Proficiency with Salesforce is highly desired, but not required.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the San Franciso Bay Area and broader District, as needed.
Base Salary Range: Min: $151,500 - Mid: $196,700 - Max: $241,900 (Location: SF Bay Area)
Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
