About the Role:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Research Support reports to the Research Department’s Associate Director of Research & Chief Operating Officer and provides leadership and oversight of Research Information Services, Research Information Technology, Administration Services, and budget activities to support and advance the strategic priorities of the Research Department and the Bank. The AVP ensures the smooth operation of all Department support processes and functions. She/he also serves as a leader and contributor to Federal Reserve System, Bank, and Department initiatives through active participation in committees, projects, and workgroups.
You Will:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Research Department support staff.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a culture of service, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement to support effective and efficient operations.
- Ensure effective controls and high level of compliance across multiple functions.
- Facilitate and drive the department’s strategic planning process, implementation of objectives and priorities, and associated change management.
- Proactively seek feedback, collect data and prepare action plans to ensure employee engagement at all levels of the department; staff and work products are aligned with and support strategic objectives and priorities.
- Anticipate emerging issues, business challenges and opportunities, and proactively create an environment that is forward looking and risk oriented.
- Lead projects that strengthen the support function in the department and improve research administration.
- Manage and allocate department resources, ensuring budget targets are met and the workload is effectively distributed.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth among department staff.
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in a related role, and five years of supervisory experience, including experience in leading and managing professional and administrative staff.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build relationships.
- Experience in a role that requires customer service, setting of strategic direction, and execution of process documentation and process improvement.
- Ability to manage and provide oversight for budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Notes:
This position may be filled at various levels based on candidate's qualifications as determined by the department.
This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
