Our team develops trusted relationships with business, community, and government stakeholders to understand the needs of the Twelfth Federal Reserve District, deepen public awareness of the SF Fed’s work, and build inclusive opportunity for all.
The Public Engagement Intern will support our commitment to meaningful engagement and relationships in the communities we serve by developing materials and messages that build awareness and drive action related to ongoing team projects. Depending on need, specific tasks may include event planning tasks, writing and editing copy for a variety of externally facing channels, reviewing performance metrics, and selecting and optimizing imagery to complement subject matter.
Create newsletter and website content, social media posts, and event invitations.
Coordinate the distribution of targeted communications and materials.
Identify and research business leaders for direct outreach.
Support event planning and production.
Review and analyze performance metrics relevant to projects.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ideal candidate is a self-starter who is persistent with figuring out problems and asking for help when needed.
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residency
Junior or Senior standing in a U.S. community college or university program
Available to work in a hybrid work environment.
Ability to work 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the approximately 10-week internship program.
Candidates should have an affinity for public service and a strong desire to learn more about the mission of the Federal Reserve.
Strong interest in community engagement and promoting economic participation for all groups.
Some familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with or an interest in learning web-based systems that support relationship management, event registration, e-mail marketing, and website design.
Experience with or an interest in learning photo/image editing software.
Experience with or an interest in learning how to develop reporting dashboards.
Hourly Range: Min: $22.00 - Mid: $24.00 - Max: $28.00 (Location: San Francisco)
Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
