The Software Quality Engineer Intern will get hands on experience working in an agile environment with the FedCash Team on large scale projects that are high-priority objectives within the Federal Reserve System. This will include writing and automating test cases, participating in the scrum process, including standup meetings, story grooming and other related activities. The intern will create, as a proof-of-concept, a test automation framework designed with a robotic processing automation software tool such as UIPath for automating the execution and documentation of COSO tests. Deliverables will include architectural and design documentation, automated scripts, and test result documentation formatted in a way that the COSO test approvers can use as evidence that required security controls are in place and effective. At the end of the internship, the candidate will deliver a presentation on the results of their work on the framework. This work will benefit the yearly COSO process Cash endures and may benefit other business lines as well.

Responsibilities:

- Create a proof-of-concept test automation framework to facilitate our annual COSO testing process.

- Collaborate with the FedCash automation team to understand testing requirements and translate them into automated test cases using the automation frameworks.

- Develop automated test scripts for various scenarios with or without the Cucumber component, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional aspects.

- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the test frameworks, ensuring it aligns with best practices and industry standards.

- Collaborate with the development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified through automation testing.

- Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects, following established processes and tools.

- Document test scenarios, test data, and automation procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.

- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to automation standards.

- Explore new Low Code/No Code tools such as AccelQ

Qualifications:

- Enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree program.

- Basic understanding of software testing principles, automation concepts, and testing frameworks.

- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies.

- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.

Hourly Range: Min: $22.00 - Mid: $24.00 - Max: $28.00 (Location: San Francisco)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
