Job Summary:

Coordinate and supervise clinical training. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate staff education and training. This includes orientation, preceptor development, staff development, and competency assessment.

Key Position Details:

This role will support coverage between 2-5 sites.

Clinic Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The Clinical Practice Educator role will support the

  • Design/delivery of ongoing nursing staff education and development

  • Clinical standard workflow development

  • Clinical skill review and validation of education/training

  • RN/LPN/UAP Onboarding/Orientation

  • Facilitation and coordinator of onboarding/orientation process

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise clinical training, education, orientation and development for a variety of staff roles.

  • Identify staff learning needs.

  • Develop education plans based on needs assessment.

  • Design and develop educational curriculum, tools, and materials.

  • Facilitate / deliver staff education.

  • Coach, mentor and teach in the clinical area.

  • Manage orientation processes and clinical training of new staff.

  • Provide preceptor training, ongoing education and support.

  • Assess and evaluate staff competence.

  • Maintain records of staff education.

  • Ensure that staff have education which meets regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate student clinical experiences.

  • May coordinate "skills day" or other education events.

May assist in planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating patient care activities and management activities.

  • May contribute to coaching and performance management.

  • May develop training tools for process improvement initiatives.

  • May participate in candidate interviews.

  • May evaluate performance related to clinical quality goals.

  • May conduct or observe safety drills to evaluate staff preparedness and address gaps.

Participate with leaders in continuous improvement activities.

  • Develop tools.

  • Facilitate huddles and other communication venues.

  • Facilitate data collection.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Nursing preferred.

  • 2 to 5 years in clinical experience required and

  • 0 to 2 years in teaching / facilitation experience preferred.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required for Minnesota practice settings upon hire.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required as needed for primary assigned Wisconsin practice settings upon hire.

  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required American Heart Association or Allina Health. upon hire
