Job Summary:

Our nursing interns work with their assigned RN preceptor to provide care that is whole person, patient centered, collaborative in nature and exceptional in quality. It is a paid, ten week internship for students currently enrolled in a baccalaureate RN program for the summer prior to graduation. Our internship is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world hands-on nursing experience, increase confidence, enhance skills and receive preference for employment upon graduation!

Work Schedule:

• 0.8 FTE (64 hours in a 2-week pay period)
• Your work schedule mirrors your assigned preceptor
• Shift, shift length and weekend agreement will vary based on preceptor - must be available to work day, evening, nights, 8s, 12s as well as rotating shifts
• Your specific work schedule will be known May 2024 when you are matched with your preceptor(s)

• There are availabilities in Home Care and a wide variety of patient care units within the 12 hospital campuses of the Allina Health system (see below) that hire summer interns, such as:
• Medical Surgical
• Cardiac Telemetry
• Vascular Telemetry
• Oncology
• Neuroscience
• Orthopedics
• Spine
• Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation
• Short Stay Observation
• Inpatient Mental Health
• ICU Stepdown/Progressive Care Units
• Float Pool
• The Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Surgical Services and Mother Baby areas also hire interns but have limited spots available
• Our hospitals primarily serve the adult patient populations so we do not have Neonatal, Pediatrics or Special Care Nursery units within the Allina hospital system
